Additionally, State and Federal grants provide us the means to work within high need areas. Recently Vision was awarded a $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation to develop & implement curriculum for high school students in the South Bronx based upon innovative technology, sustainability and design. In 2008 the MacArthur Foundation selected Vision as one of 16 out of 1100 applicants to develop a social networking website providing kids passionate about sciencewitha place to learn, download science podcasts and communicate about Do It Yourself science projects.Vision Education & Media is seeking an experienced, customer focused and entrepreneurial Program Manager who will manage all aspects of grant based work contracted with the State and New York City?s Department of Education (DOE). This exciting opportunity requires a track record of effectiveness in developing partnership relationships with diverse key stakeholders within the Department of Education including school principals, afterschool directors,andeducation grant managers, as well aswith otherexternal organizations andVision Education & Mediastaff.The Program Manager will have a proven success record in developing partnerships with representatives of State and/or NYC?s Department of Education in providing grant based educational services. The successful candidate will have experience in recruiting, developing and on-site evaluating teachers or tutors, and in evaluating and standardizing outstanding quality of educational programs to grow grant based programs.The Program Manager reports directly to the Director of Program Operations. This role provides a great opportunity to manage and grow a significant part of the company and play a key role in Vision Education & Media.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
